What we do.
This particular role is at our Bakkavor Bread site based in Crewe. The factory makes chilled speciality bread such as sliced baguettes, hand-crafted flatbreads & dough balls and employs over 280 people in the factory and over 50 in its Distribution Centre.
About the role.
We manufacture a wide range of high-quality chilled products for our dedicated customers at our Bakkavor sites. Our production lines are non-stop, so you’ll be kept busy creating our products. Working right at the heart of our fast-paced, high-pressured environment, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety, be encouraged to find where your strengths lie and supported to achieve your full potential.
Logistics Base Operative duties may include:
- Preparation of goods for transportation
- Receiving, unloading, and checking of deliveries
- Replenishment of end-of-line, despatch and logistics areas with crates, pallets, and other goods as required
- Counting of stock
- Transferring and disposal of materials
- Monitoring of areas (including despatch, de-box, loading bays and perimeter) for required temperatures.
- Cleanliness of above areas; ensuring high GMP standards
- Completion of machinery start-up checks
About you.
- Relevant Logistics/Stores/Despatch experience, which has ideally been within the food-manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Counterbalance and Reach FLT licence and achievement of a basic food hygiene certificate would be favourable
- Good computer literacy skills (Excel, Word, database system)
- Flexible and willing to undertake other roles/responsibilities if required
- Capable of working on own initiative with the ability and confidence to make decisions
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of warehouse systems
- Stock take/check experience
